Membership Mission Statement

Temple Sinai is an open Jewish community rooted in Reform Judaism. We are dedicated to fostering Jewish culture, learning, spirituality, prayer and social action in a participatory, welcoming and intimate environment.

Membership Vision Statement

Temple Sinai will provide an inclusive and vital Jewish experience for families and individuals seeking to express and enrich their spirituality in a reformed synagogue.  Temple Sinai establishes a comfortable, participatory environment focused on education and social action with a vision to improve its local community while building on the Jewish tradition of tikkun olam (healing the world).

 Participation

  • We encourage and empower congregants to become involved in all aspects of Temple Sinai.. This includes participating in services, volunteering for committees and the Board, identifying members’ needs, creating new programs and activities, setting policies, voting on key issues, and working with lay leaders and the Rabbi and Cantor.

 Spirituality

  • We embrace Jewish traditions while being open to new interpretations of religious expression. We are committed to celebrating, supporting and providing Jewish life-cycle rituals for all members and their families.

 Community

  • We foster a sense of community within Temple Sinai as well as being sensitive to the needs of the wider community in the spirit of healing the world, tikkun olam.
