Social Action Committee - Performing a Mitzvah, One Family At A Time
"Deeds of giving are the very foundations of the world." Pirke Avot 1:2
The Temple Sinai Social Action Committee was created in 2013 by Rabbi Cohen with the goal of Tikkun Olam – Repairing the World. The mission statement of the committee is to pursue projects that benefit individuals in need whether they are Jewish or non-Jewish.
An annual meeting is held each August where committee members review potential projects and then select six to eight for the months of September through July. The projects are designed to partner with organizations that also support the goal of “Repairing the World”.
Since 2013 the committee has worked on a wide variety of projects as listed below. Projects with a star benefit Jewish Family Services (JFSA) and repeat annually:
We are always looking for new volunteers and new project ideas. For questions or additional information please contact: info@templesinailv.org
